I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
